I’m getting too old for this

So the iPhone will go on sale one week from today at 6 PM. And I won’t be getting one.

Oh, I’m getting an iPhone, but not at 6 PM on Friday. From what I’m seeing around the net, it’s going to be a madhouse at Apple/AT&T stores. And I’m just too old to be standing in lines for hours on end. I’ve got three mouths to feed.

Unless I can find a way to feed them while waiting in line. Hmm…

    okay, let’s be reasonable, one of these mouths is a very very small one, and it’s probably still breastfeeding. I don’t want to even think of you trying to breastfeed. Let’s not go there, whaddaya say?
    Seriously, I think the iPhone is going to be pretty darn cool and my contract is up and I could totally upgrade, but I balk at the thought of a phone costing more than a laptop, plus it won’t run all my Palm apps. Freaking James, got me addicted to Palm ten years ago.

    Ilya, it’s time to let go of your ten-year-old addiction and pick a new one for the next decade! I’m sure web app versions of a lot of those Palm apps will start popping up soon enough… I’m thinking that someone has already started on an iPhone optimized calculomatic, for instance. :)

    Rafa – buying online defeats the point. Half of the Apple fanboy experience is the schadenfreude one gets to experience as one walks out the store with a bag full of shiny Apple goodies, proclaiming your intent to immediately eBay everything for above list price, right in the faces of the rubes at the end of the line who won’t get anything because the store will be sold out.
